If performance is a top priority on your new car “Must Have” list, then there is no better place to look than the Honda lineup. The Japanese carmaker recently reintroduced one of the most iconic performance cars in the industry—the Honda Civic Type-R. The Honda Civic Type-R debut, which occurred at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month, showcased one of the most powerful hatchbacks ever made, showing that you don’t have to compromise on power.

The Honda Civic Type-R debut showed off the unique features of the Type-R in comparison to the current Honda Civic (pictured).

A 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine powers the Type-R, churning out a powerful 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. This power alone helps the hatchback speed to 62 miles per hour in just 5.7 seconds. The powertrain also helps the special Civic top out at 167 miles per hour. Add a front-wheel-drive system, a six-speed manual transmission, electric power steering, and Brembo brakes, and you have a high-speed demon that is sure to hug a road’s curves with ease.
