2015 seems to be the year for the Honda CR-V—and it’s barely even started. The popular crossover was recently named Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the Year and has been the top-selling SUV in America for the past decade. Now, the 2015 CR-V has another trophy to add to its shelf. The 2015 Honda CR-V was recently named a 2015 Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), proving that the crossover is not only stylish and capable, but it’s also extremely safe.
“Honda’s vision to one day eliminate traffic-related collisions, injuries, and fatalities is at the heart of our commitment to safety,” said Art St. Cyr, vice president of auto operations at American Honda. “Our continued innovation in active safety and assistive technologies with the application of Honda Sensing brings Honda, our customers, and everyone else on the road one step closer to this goal.”
The stellar 2015 Honda CR-V safety rating was thanks in part to the new Honda Sensing suite of safety features. This system includes the first Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning and Lane Keeping Assist in a Honda vehicle and the first Adaptive Cruise Control.
