Back on November 1, 1982, Honda opened the first Japanese auto plant in the US in Marysville Ohio. The first plant made the ever-popular Honda Accord, and recently the 10 millionth US-made Honda Accord rolled off of the assembly line. Not only was it the 10 millionth Honda Accord, but it was the 20 millionth US-built Honda overall.
In the over 32 years of building cars in America, the Honda plant in Maryville has grown to also build the Honda Accord Coupe and Hybrid models. Honda now also builds cars in East Liberty, Ohio; Lincoln, Alabama; and Greensburg, Indiana. All together, four car models and seven light truck models are made right here in America!
Honda is currently working on completion of the Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville. The new plant will assemble the Acura NSX as the sole clobal production facility for the next generation of the popular model.
