Honda Wins 4th Consecutive British Touring Car Championship

While Red Bull powered to a 1-2 finish at the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend, it was a completely different show at the conclusion of the British Touring Car Championship in Brands Hatch, where the Honda Yuasa Racing Team took a win and a championship.

Honda driver Gordon Shedden needed to win the championship’s final race at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix and hope that his rival Andrew Jordan stay out of the points to claim the driver’s title for the second time in a row. Though he did win the race at the wheel of his Honda Civic, his hopes were dashed when Jordan cinched 9th place and secured the championship.

Fortunately, his performance along with that of his teammate Matt Neal (who claimed 4th in the driver’s championship) helped Honda to obtain the constructor’s title with a commanding lead. This is the fourth consecutive year that Honda Yuasa Racing Team wins the constructor’s championship and it is showing no signs of easing up on the victories.

It may not be a race car, but the production Honda Civic is still quite the vehicle. Come check out what a championship-winning car is made of at Valley Honda.
